To My Ladies With PCOS

To my ladies with PCOS … we have a problem or rather problems. Our hormones are out of whack creating all kinds of problems. We struggle with our weight, hormonal acne, we either are pre-diabetic or have diabetes and maybe even have problems with our thyroid. All of these issues lead to infertility, high-risk pregnancies, doctors wanting to prescribe medication, birth control, etc.

Truth be told, none of these truly work and if they do, they don’t work for enough of us. There are side effects and what happens when we get off birth control? For most women with PCOS, even IVF won’t catch because our bodies simply can’t sustain a pregnancy.

I have heard of much success among the PCOS community and guess what? It wasn’t through IVF, fertility treatments, birth control, and whatever else they want to give us, although these do work for some. I even experienced my own success, even though I lost her at 20 weeks, but the reason was completely separate from PCOS, so I count it as a success.

The Secret

What’s the secret? I’ll tell you and share a few resources to get you started.

A natural and healthy lifestyle.

Yup, that’s the secret. I say lifestyle because we are changing and improving the way we live. It’s really hard because we cut out all processed foods, sugar, have very limited amounts of dairy among other things. We need to be exercising and getting nine hours of sleep every night too.

I’ve seen it work for me and so I’ve restarted that lifestyle because I want babies! I want lots of kids and I am willing to make all the necessary sacrifices to get them here and then to live in a way that I will have a long healthy life, allowing me to watch my children get married, have their own families, and my grandkids having families of their own as well.

Ultimately, you have to decide. You have to decide if you want to be healthy, have more energy (something we also struggle with), have babies, and if you want to be happier and more confident. If you want them enough, you’re going to go as far as necessary to get what you need.

Perhaps you’re thinking, “Great, but now what? I don’t even know where to start.” Don’t worry, I’ve got you. I’m going to share several links to get you started, the very same ones I’ve used to have success, and am using again hoping for even greater success.

YOU CAN DO THIS. I’m not going to pretend it’s not hard, because it is. I will say it gets easier and eventually, you won’t even think about it. You’ve got to be taking care of YOU in order to get what you want from life.

Dr. Axe

Dr. Axe was a doctor my mom actually found. I read everything he had to say and implemented it as best I could and I am doing it again. He is a natural doctor with natural remedies and helps you in kick-starting a natural and healthy lifestyle.

How I Reversed PCOS Naturally (No Medications!)

A quick word about this next one about Keto. Not everyone can or wants to do Keto. If you read the previous link you know there are two different routes you can go. Keto is definitely the more extreme of the two, especially if you’re very strict with it. Because I’m looking for very specific results, I have decided to kick-start myself in a strong way, so I’ve gone 100% Keto. I will also share a link to a YouTube video which talks about the benefits of the Keto Diet if you’re diabetic or struggle with insulin resistance (pre-diabetic).

Type 2 Diabetes

If you have PCOS you most likely struggle with type two diabetes or insulin-resistance/pre-diabetes. This can all be reversed naturally. Stop taking medication for it because it’s not solving the problem. It’s a bandaid and continuing with bad eating or exercising habits is only going to make it worse.

Meals

I know all too well how hard it is to figure meals that are PCOS conducive. It really sucks! So, I’ll kick start you by dropping a few of my favorites by DownShiftology.

Whole30 Chicken Broccoli Casserole (Paleo, Dairy-Free)

Vegan Alfredo Sauce

The Alfredo Sauce recipe uses this Nutritional Yeast that is Gluten Free, Natural, and tastes like cheese! You’ll definitely want this in your pantry.

Eggs are pretty much a staple for us PCOS women. If you want easy-to-peel and perfectly cooked boiled eggs, then I recommend following this recipe.

Cobb Salad

Conclusion

To my ladies with PCOS … we have a problem or rather problems. Our hormones are out of whack creating all kinds of problems. All of the issues we deal with on the daily lead to infertility, high-risk pregnancies, doctors wanting to prescribe medication, birth control, etc.

Take your life back. Take care of yourself. It’s all about creating a healthy lifestyle. Nine hours of sleep. No sugar. Natural foods. Exercise. Here’s to creating a better version of you!

Love, Analee
